You are moving to Linux from windows  so i recommend you Ubuntu .

if you are interested in cyber security and hacking then i recommend you Kali Linux which is based on debian .

yes there are many. choice is yours but go for Ubuntu first.

my personal suggestion is that first read about basick of Linux like file system, command line and file directory  and some basic commands.

Welcome to Linux. hope you will learn new things.

if you are moving from windows to linux . I recommend

1. Ubuntu (lot of comminity support ).

2. Debian (if you are an embedded engineer).

3.lubuntu ( if you want to use feeatures of ubuntu without much RAM space)

4. Kali linux ( if you are a HACKER)

Hope my answer helps.

since you are changing from windows . you may lose all data in hardrive due to static to dynamic memory conversions (happened to me, but not usual) . you can recover all data using 7datarecovery software. It can be easily cracked
